Dear Guests
I, on behalf of the Lions of District 351 Lebanon – Jordan – Iraq, would like to welcome you all, and thank you for your valuable presence. We all reckon the importance of this special event, its value and its impact on the Lions Clubs of our District and broader region.
Lions Clubs International President Dr Wing – Kun Tam said that 2011 – 2012 will be a remarkable year for the Lions. Our commitment to the essence of our mission, dedication to the constant improvement of the world around us, and courage to overcome any challenge that could stifle our progress, make me believe that this year will be nothing less than remarkable.
We are Lions ! And as Lions, what we strive to achieve is Happiness, Equality, No discrimination, and above all ensuring Life in Dignity and Respect for every individual in our communities.

Mahatma Gandhi said “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in service to Others “. Here in District 351, the Lions recently made a great step in the field of social integration, and contributed to the long list of their noble achievements in sponsoring two Leo clubs, Alpha and Omega, for hearing-impaired. Let us appreciate their presence among us today for they are a testimony of the impact that our beloved organization has on serving our communities.

On this occasion, allow me to express my pride in the Beirut Lions Club, for it is the first Lions club to be established among all of the 56 countries in the ISAAME region. We Serve since 1952. Sixty years in Serving our community, Sixty years in Serving the Other.

I would also like to seize this occasion to inform you that we are the proud recipient of a Recognition Gift from the Lebanese Government for our Sixty years of Service in this country. Our generous government has agreed to issue a commemorative stamp in the honor of the Lions of Lebanon.
Thanks for our Lebanese Government and specially to his Excellency the Prime Minister Mr Najib Mikaty and his Excellency the minister Nicolas Sehnaoui.
